The appearance of popular Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky, at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, for his arraignment by the EFCC has sparked emotional reactions online. In a newly released video, Bobrisky can be seen arriving at the court around 9 a.m. in a white Hiace Toyota bus, escorted by armed police officers.
Bobrisky is facing sanctions from the anti-graft agency in response to allegations of money laundering and Naira abuse. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a six-count complaint against him, with the first four counts focusing on the abuse of the Naira, while the last two counts allege money laundering.
Although Bobrisky was detained on Wednesday night, he was released on Thursday before being charged with money laundering by the EFCC on Friday. Reports indicate that he was detained in a separate cell as the EFCC arraigned him on charges involving N180.7 million in money laundering and N490,000 in abuse.
