Nollywood actress Yetunde Bakare recently shared insights into why some men ask their partners what they bring to the table in relationships. In an interview with The Punch, Bakare suggested that such questions often stem from a perception that the woman lacks potential.
According to Bakare, men who pose this question may have observed qualities in their partners that suggest a lack of vision or purpose. They might also view their partners as more interested in a luxurious lifestyle they cannot afford independently.
While acknowledging that she personally hasn’t been asked this question, Bakare believes it serves as a pretext for men to evaluate whether their partners align with their long-term goals and aspirations.
In her words;
“I personally think that is not a general question. Nobody has ever asked me that. I feel men often ask such questions when they don’t see the woman they are with as someone who has potential.
“He might have studied her and realised that she does not have foresight, or that she lacks vision and purpose.
“He might also see her as someone who is more interested in a luxury lifestyle that she cannot afford on her own. I feel it is just an excuse for the man to let such a woman go.”
