Nollywood actress Laide Bakare opened up about the challenges faced by women in her industry when it comes to finding genuine love.
In an interview with The Punch, she shared her personal and professional struggles, highlighting the difficulty in discerning sincere intentions from those driven by her celebrity status.
Expressing her frustration, Bakare lamented that sometimes men are drawn to her because of her fame rather than her true character. She emphasized the delicate task of distinguishing genuine connections from those rooted in her public persona.
Laide Bakare said;
“As an actress, producer and director, my primary challenge has to do with navigating relationships and finding true love. Sometimes, people are attracted to my status and my profession, rather than the essence of who I am. Distinguishing genuine connections from those based on fame is often a delicate task.”
Speaking on her decision to venture into acting, she said:
“I was inspired by broadcasters, as well as the deep love I had for journalism. I initially aspired to study Mass Communication; but fate steered me towards Theatre Arts. The twist, though unexpected, turned out to be serendipitous.
Studying Theatre Arts not only broadened my perspective on storytelling and communication, it also ignited a fervour for the entertainment industry. The vibrant and diverse experiences I had at the University of Ibadan became the stepping stone for my professional journey.
Now, as I navigate the dynamic field of the entertainment industry, I appreciate how that unconventional path has enriched my skills, offering a unique blend of creativity and communication that defines my roles in this exciting industry.”
Am happy ma’am for your achievement in your career
Well about finding true love for actree is hard cause most actress are feeling too big when they start making it so cause of that most people they feel too big
Can you say the same if this statement was from an actor or someone of high caliber in the industry ma’am?
The reason most of this celebrity find it difficult to find through love is because of their status.
Is it true love you are looking for or money love, reason you guys can’t love is because of ego
Well sire/ma
I disagree…
We all have ego
Yes, even the small money or achievement wey we get you’re proud of it because you know you worked for it and you’ll never settle for less…
What do you say about male counterparts in the industry who are yet to marry…
Same thing applies
I rest my case
Well, looking at things from her point of view
If you’re a successful career person regardless of your career path, you’d understand better…
It’s not totally wrong to say they also want to marry someone that’s as rich as them or even more successful but they’re also careful not to fall into the hands of someone who’s after their money and then they’d have to face the divorce saga after few years of marriage because they have emotions too, they’re just like us only that they’re in the limelight than many of us are, which can be very difficult to know when someone is in such position…And to whom much is given much is also expected…
My opinion.
Actually it will be hard to single out the true love and you’re already up there. And then again when one of lower social status with genuine mind is coming they will quickly reject that one because of social status. That’s why majority of them end with scattered relationship up and down
Hmmmmmm 🤔🧐…..well finding true love as an actress can be challenging because of the demanding nature of the profession. Long hours, constant travel, and intense schedules can make it difficult to nurture and maintain a stable relationship. Additionally, fame and public scrutiny can add pressure and make it hard to trust others’ intentions.
Hmm
Ogbenutan
Well my pov
I don’t think it’s hard to find true love as an actress
Thing is you have to come down to the masses level
Let ‘em see you like you are together
With that you will be able to distinguish love from Lust and that will make it easy
My pov
It’s can be a challenge to find true love as an actress because some people come with the motive of going after your possessions
Hmmmm
It takes the grace of God to find true love
Yeah… it’s can be difficult finding a true love as a celebrity. Leave celeb aside sef, true love no be moimoi
One of the cons that come with fame tbvh. People love proximity to success, not the actual person. It’s difficult to find true love as it is. Even regular success without fame attracts leeches; with fame it’s probably 5 times worse
It is challenging finding a true love because as an actress some people are after your money and your fame they want to use that person and shine
