A tragic accident occurred on Saturday along the Ore-Okitipupa road in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, as a truck carrying sand crushed two individuals to death at the Idi-Mango area.
The Ore Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yetunde Adesina, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). According to Adesina, the accident involved a Mark truck with registration number RBC 05 XL and a Haojue Red Suzuki motorcycle with registration number GBA 254 QA, resulting in the death of two unidentified individuals.
Eyewitnesses reported that the commercial motorcycle, carrying the victims, made a wrong manoeuvre, causing them to fall off the bike just as the truck collided with them.
The bodies of the deceased, two males, have been transported to the morgue of the Ore General Hospital. Adesina cautioned commercial motorcyclists against reckless driving and improper overtaking.
It was also reported that the driver of the truck fled the accident scene, while the truck itself has been conveyed to the Ore Divisional Police headquarters.
