A recent rainstorm in the Waptan community of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area in Bauchi State has left many residents homeless.
The storm, which occurred over the weekend, destroyed roofs of houses, exposing inhabitants to the elements.
A legislative aide to the lawmaker representing Lere-Bula in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Saminu Abubakar, confirmed the incident to journalists. He assured affected residents that the houses have been identified and measures will be taken to assist the victims.
The aide further assured the residents of timely assistance to repair their homes before the full onset of this year’s rainy season.
The incident has left many residents in a state of distress, and efforts are being made to provide temporary shelter and relief to those affected. The community is calling for support and assistance to help rebuild and recover from the devastating effects of the rainstorm.
