Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani criticized the lack of action from northern leaders regarding the recent security crises in the region. Sani’s comments came after reports of deadly attacks by bandits in both Zamfara and Plateau states, leaving a combined death toll of 80 farmers.
In a social media post, Sani highlighted the low attendance at the latest meeting of the Northern Governors Forum, where only half the governors were present. He argued that this poor showing indicated a lack of seriousness in tackling the security issues plaguing the region.
Sani’s statement read: “Just last week, bandits murdered 30 farmers in Zamfara. Now, this week, terrorists brutally killed 50 farmers in Plateau State. It’s worth noting that during the most recent Northern Governors’ meeting in April, a troubling 12 out of 24 governors were absent. The leadership in this region is failing to seriously address the security challenges we face.”
Actually they aren’t taking security issues seriously in the northern areas ,they have always had this issue but nothing has been done
It’s the northern governor’s who I feel are capable of putting us in crisis lately
Which security for where, security for naija no be security.
Security generally isn’t taken seriously In this country not only the northern government
Nothing is taking serious in this country and I foresee there wouldn’t be a nation called Nigeria again in few years to come
Let’s agree they are not truly serious about fighting security so the president of this country is also not serious to do the needful, did we vote for the governor at the federal level
Please don’t say that
Nigeria will be great 😊 again
Our government cannot do that oh
For real
They are too relaxed !
They should learn to protect their country
Security matter has never been taken serious earlier.
