The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has vehemently rejected the newly introduced cybersecurity levy by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), demanding its immediate withdrawal.
In a statement issued by its President, Joe Ajaero, the NLC condemned the directive as another anti-people policy amidst excruciating economic hardship.
The CBN’s directive mandates banks and payment service operators to deduct a 0.005% levy on electronic transfers, effective in two weeks.
The NLC argues that this move, aimed at bolstering cybersecurity measures, will only exacerbate the financial strain already faced by Nigerians.
The statement reads: “This levy is yet another burden on the shoulders of hardworking Nigerians… This move threatens to exacerbate the financial strain already faced by the populace.”
This government is so clueless. The only thing they know how to do best is choking the masses.
As if they are not rich enough 😔
NLC talks has not produce any results since this administration. Let’s hope God touch their to change it.
The problem with this NLC is they are innovative everything shouldn’t be reactionary but they should be pro active so people can start taking them serious
