The Lagos State Police Command has arrested popular musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, for failing to pay a debt related to the purchase of a G-Wagon vehicle. According to reports, Portable bought the car worth N27 million but only paid N13 million, leaving a balance of N14 million.
The car dealer alleged that Portable refused to pay the remaining amount, claiming the vehicle was faulty. Despite repeated requests, Portable failed to settle the debt, leading the car dealer to report the matter to the police.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, stating, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought a G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”
The arrest highlights the importance of honoring financial commitments and the consequences of failing to do so. The case is currently under investigation, and further developments are expected.
