Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his allegiance to the party amidst rumors of a potential departure, citing his commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians.
Addressing journalists in Bauchi on Sunday after commissioning a hand pump for water supply in Sabon Layi community, Obi dismissed speculations about his departure and reiterated his dedication to the party. He emphasized that his focus is on enhancing the living standards of Nigerians, rather than harboring ambitions of becoming Nigeria’s President.
Obi emphasized the importance of prioritizing good governance over politics at this time, urging stakeholders to concentrate on initiatives that will foster national development.
Regarding the internal crisis within the LP, Obi described it as a typical internal challenge that will be resolved through peaceful means. He stressed his belief in unity and advocated for peaceful resolution of the party’s issues, affirming his commitment to staying with the LP.
“The leadership crisis in the LP presently is not an abnormal thing, it is an in-house problem and it will be solved amicably as a family.
“I have never thought of leaving the LP, I only advocated for peace because I am a man who believes in peace, I am a man who believes in unity, I am a man who believes that we are the same.
“I don’t see any difference between you and me; by the grace of God I always want to do the right thing.
“That is the reason I came here personally, I would have asked someone to represent me, no, I didn’t.” Peter Obi said.
With all the controversies around labour party I honestly believe peter obi should consider leaving the party but if he chose to stay I will respect his decision
The man of the people Peter Obi. Keep holding on to your firm principle and 2027 we shall go for you again
All of una wey be politician, I no trust you. If una never enter office, you all will be doing like good person. Anyway keep focus obi, let God will be done.
pDP I know,AC I know, but LP taking seat in Nigeria,I don’t really know if it will work out or not.anyways, politics is a game of chances
Peter obi is a nice man who wants peace buh if staying in labour party will destroy his happiness let him leave buh for me l dont think it is right cause him leavin will make look like he is a confused man
Peter obi my man i know you will do that but there are some forces holding you down
I love Obi
He is the man that is capable of restoring Nigeria, he has what it takes to develop this country.
Objection my lord…
No man of himself is capable of changing a nation without the right people around him and the right mindset in the minds of the people he’s governing… at least, he’s not planning to have a military government…
So he can have the motive but he also needs the right people…
I rest my case
Interesting. I Wonder where the rumor originated from. There’s so much controversy concerning LP now. Well, if we all decide to vote the man and not the party, that shouldn’t matter too much, right?
Make I no lie u have to join either PDP OR APC if u want to be the president of this country
Dey play
Peter is a man of his word
Like he said he doesn’t have to join any other party 🎈
I stand with peter obi
No matter the issue is
Leaving the party won’t resolve anything
Again, the thing is, if he leave LP, where would he go and he’d shine like he is in Labour Party right now???
Some of us can say, “shebi it’s politics, these guys can do anything”, but come to think of it, I believe he has an integrity to protect whether he gets the position or not
