13hours spent so far, 45 hours to go! Tunde onakoya has faced 10 opponents so far and has won every single one of them including one of New York’s finest, National Chess Master Shawn Martinez!
Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess master, coach and founder of Chess in Slums Africa. He has organized a number of interventions for children across slums in Lagos state including Majidun, Makoko and recently, Oshodi.
He is currently attempting to break the Guinness world record for the longest chess marathon at Times Square NYC. He’d be playing for 58 hours without losing a game.
Tunde started his attempt to break the Guinness World Record on the 17th of April 2024 at 10am in Times Square, New York, and is scheduled to conclude at 8pm on April 19th.
