The feature, currently in the testing phase, allows users to communicate with Meta AI directly through the WhatsApp search box.

Initially spotted in the Android 2.24.7.14 WhatsApp beta, the integration is being tested with select users in specific countries, primarily those with English as their app language.In addition to accessing Meta AI through the search bar, Indian users have a specific icon on the top app bar for easy access.

Importantly, Meta emphasizes that user privacy in private conversations on WhatsApp remains unaffected by the integration. Interactions in the search bar are private, and no information is shared with Meta AI unless explicitly requested by the user.

Meta’s investment in AI research and development is evident from its recent disclosure about the upcoming iteration of its proprietary AI accelerator hardware.
