I Killed Them Because They Used Me And Promised Me Money—Arrested Driver

It would be recalled that the FCT, Abuja Police recently paraded a young man named Jonathan Marcus, who was a car mechanic and also responsible for killing his employers, Mr Adebola Ezekiel and Mrs Abiodun Ezekiel.

According to a recent video shared on YouTube by Symfoni News, Jonathan said that he worked occasionally as a driver for the 80 year old Mr Adebola Ezekiel and his wife, however, he did not get enough money and he did not have enough time for his mechanic work. At some point he stopped working for the victim for about a month, but Mr Adebola later called him on phone to know why he stopped coming to drive him.

Jonathan also said that he got so angry for being used not given money he was promised that on the 31st March, 2024, he went the house of Mr Adebola at the Apo area in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and killed him and his wife with a knife. Their bodies were later found on 1st April, 2024 after their son asked someone to check on his parents. The killer also took Mr Adebola’s phone and wallet containing his ATM card.

After the bodies were found, the police traced Jonathan to his hide out at the Obajana area of Kogi State and arrested him. While he was being questioned by journalists, he said he did not want to kill the wife but did it because she saw him. The couple also had a housemaid, but she was not around during the incident. He also said he did not kill the couple for money, but tried to withdraw money from the ATM card he stole from them.
