Father & son arrested for allegedly beating neigbour to death in Ogun

The Ogun State Police command announced the apprehension of Chizoke Obiadada, aged 54, and his 17-year-old son, Micheal Obiadada, for the assault leading to the unfortunate demise of Tope Owoade.

The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, shared this information in a statement issued to reporters in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

According to Odutola, the disagreement between the deceased and the suspects stemmed from a dispute over sitting on a ‘worktable.’

The statement reads, ‘Successive uncontrollable anger and arguments, which snowballed into a quarrel, over sitting on a “worktable” belonging to one Tope Owoade, now deceased.’

It further states, ‘A table, the victim uses in selling “Pomo,” stemmed an altercation for preventing her neighbors from sitting on her work table, causing a misunderstanding that has led to the ultimately death of one Tope Owoade, 43 years old.’

The Divisional Police Officer of OGIJO received a complaint from Isiaka Owoade, the husband of the deceased, narrating the events leading to his wife’s demise.

He stated that on March 29, 2024, upon his return from a journey, his late wife informed him that on the previous day, March 28, 2024, at about 2030hrs, Chizoke Obiadada and his son, Michael Obiadada, known neighbors, assaulted his wife by inflicting fatal injuries on her during a dispute over the use of a work table.

The victim was rushed to Main Frame private hospital and Kunle hospital Atan Agowa, where she was rejected. Unfortunately, she passed away while being taken to a government hospital.

The Divisional Police Officer promptly arrested the culprits, who are currently undergoing preliminary investigations. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.”

As a man,one has to be able to control his anger in situation because a slight mistake can send one to jail.
